How get get roadmap of sprints

I'm a little confused here. How do I get a high level overview of my sprints. A waterfall view if you will. 

We use epics to track features across multiple sprints. So when a feature doesn't make the cut for our current sprint cycle it can be added to another one, as shown in the picture below this sounds like the correct way to do things. 

So how or why can't I see a high level view of planned sprints but I can see a waterfall view of epics and their timeline, which seems backwards considering epics aren't timelined, but sprints are. 

I can only assume I have this mixed up or am just missing the feature. I have tried in both the new-gen and old templates. 

After spending ALL day trying to figure this system out and make it work, we're already very strongly leaning towards just going back to a much simpler, Asana. Please advise.
