We have a "To Do" column, an "In Progress" column and a "Done" column. I wanted to delete all the "Done" items, but still keep the column. The problem is, each member of our team receives an email about the deletion. And, there are roughly 700 items in the "Done" column, so it would fill up a mailbox pretty quickly. Any suggestions?
Thanks Jack-so, we have a backup spreadsheet that lists all projects we have completed, so keeping the done issues isn't that big of a deal. However, it sounds like the issues just disappearing from view would work as well. The main concern (and I saw this on another forum) was our "project board" being extremely slow due to there being almost 700 items in that column.
Also, not sure about the Kanban-how would know if I have that ability? And how would I do that?
do you really want to "delete" these issues (bad idea) or do you simply want to have the disappear from the Done column in the board?
If the later then if you are using a Kanban board you can simply add a sub-filter to have Done issues older than say 5-10 days (or whatever) filter off the board.
if the former (don't do it) you can run a search that results in the issues you wish to delete (oh no!) and bulk edit the list and select the Delete issues (crazy!). Then you can uncheck the notify radio button so notifications are not sent. (good by issues forever :-()

I expect you have a Kanban board. If you authored the board you should see ellipses in upper right. Click there and select Board settings. In the general tab you will see sub-filter at the bottom. In that enter something like this -
resolved >= -1w OR resolved IS EMPTY
