Why is it so difficult to find this information? It would seem that this would come along with user management, but it doesn't. They have an article that says it includes "edit user", but it doesn't; just invite/add/remove. Nonetheless...
We sent out invites to new users from Jira- half the usernames now show as their email addresses only and half show with email addresses and first/last names. Our corporate email has first and last names tied to all of our email accounts, so it does not make sense that it would pull some and not others. We want to be able to see the first/last names for all the users. How do we change this?
Additional info: Jira Cloud, not using AD
Hi Menkara, welcome to the Community!
Usernames in Jira Cloud are managed through Atlassian ID, because a single email address could be used for multiple Jira instances. For example, another company your employees work with could add your employees to their JIra instance, and managing the account details is better in the hands of your employees (once) than all the various Jira and Confluence sites they may participate in. Users can manage their profile settings at https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/profile-and-visibility to determine who can see things like their full name.
If all the users have email addresses like yourcompany.com, I'd recommend taking a look at Atlassian Access . This allows you to verify that you own a particular domain, and claim control over users with that domain for their email address. You can set password policies, enforce 2-factor authentication, and manage details like Full Name for all the users in that domain.
Hope that helps clarify things a bit!
Cheers,
Daniel
Thank you, Daniel!
