How do we make the backlog shared between two boards in the same project?

So we have 2 boards under the same project.

Board 1 is, i guess, our default board (kanban style) and every new card that gets created is moved here - I think by our workflow?

Board 2 is scrum with sprints.

The backlog on board 2 does not show us any of the cards from the backlog on board 1 - I think this is because board 2 does not have the kanban backlog column under column settings. The backlog status "is not visible" under the column settings... Okay so how dow we add the backlog status to the backlog if we can't have the kanban backlog column in sprint boards???

We want to be able to see all of the cards from board 1 backlog on board 2 backlog and eventually erase board 1 and only use board 2 - we are switching from kanban style dev to sprints.

Any helpful tips or info would be great thank you!

you need to edit the filter that defines board 2 such that the new issues appear in the backlog. If the issues in board 1 backlog consist of issues in say the "To Do" status then make sure board 2 has "To Do" mapped to backlog.

Can we do the same if there are 2 scrum boards in 1 project?

Can you help me understand your use case? I'm a bit confused why you would won't the same backlog in two different scrum boards. Maybe you would want a top level Kanban to hold all of the backlog and the move them to the individual scrum backlogs. Just a thought,

We are splitting the team into 2 under 1 project with the same backlog. so both teams would have own scrum board. I am wondering if that's possible even to share the backlog within these two teams or we need to split the backlog as well.

You should consider parallel sprints. That allow you to use a single backlog but multiple sprints. The teams can drag their issues into different sprints.

Thank you fór the teplý. I was Also considering this as an option however it seems that we have this multiplex sprints option disabled.

If you don't like that solution then consider my initial suggestion of three boards.
