How do we enable the "clear done issues" option?

Izla Kesler May 31, 2023

It's a kanban project, but I don't have this option.

Hi @Izla Kesler  and welcome,

probably you need to hide completed issue in your board. There is a specific setting for that (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/configuring-filters-938845268.html#Configuringfilters-(Kanbanonly)Hidingcompletedissues) - this seetings is the same in server and cloud instances.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Hey @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_,

Yes that's it, thank you very much!

But then, I still don't have the manual option to clear issues?

hey @Izla Kesler , it depends from your setting and it can't be done manually for a specific ticket

I only have this image.png  So based on the resolution time..

Is there another setting I'm missing?

Yeah sure, it is for all done issues at the same time.

Hi @Izla Kesler

You could try adding sub-filter. That's described under (Kanban only) Adding a sub-filter on the page @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_  linked above. For example, something like:

  • status != Done

HTH,

Kel

Hello,

Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, this only remove all done issues from the view, but the option to manually clear them is not appearing.

Hi @Izla Kesler when you say "manually clear them" do you mean you want to be able to manually toggle a filter on and off? If so:

  • If your project is company-managed, that's called a Quick Filter, and here's how your board admin can create one:
    • click on the ... at the top right of the board
    • click on Board settings
    • click on the Quick Filters tab (left side of the screen)
    • enter a new quick filter like "status != Done", and click Add

Hello,

Not exactly, I have this option in another project, it looks like this .2023-06-03_16h35_38.png

Thanks.

Ah, I think your screenshot above is for a team-managed project, I don't see that option on my company-managed projects. When you're looking at a scrum/kanban board, look at the bottom of the left nav bar, and you should see whether you're looking at a team-managed project or a company-managed project.

That may be it, thank you Kelly!

@Kelly Arrey , @Izla Kesler , I ran through the same issue. Kelly, you are correct. This option only exists for team managed projects:

For company managed projects, you can only set a timeframe in Configure board/General/Completed issues (last option in the page):
