I have a filter i built for a user and when I look at the subscriptions she's the only one subscribed to it, but I've had at least three other people reach out that they're receiving a weekly email subscription to this filter (I am as well) and I can't figure out how that's happening. It has been happening every Monday morning since May 4th.
There seems to be no way of accurately seeing filter subscriptions in Jira.
1. @Trudy Claspill already pointed out that another user could have added a subscription that you cannot see.
2. The API endpoint /rest/api/3/filter/{filterId} has a section 'subscriptions'. However, in my test it doesn't even show my own subscriptions...
"subscriptions": {"size": 0,"items": [],"max-results": 1000,"start-index": 0,"end-index": 0
3. In the past I do remember us restoring our production site to a QA or Sandbox site. we forgot to turn of email on our QA site. This caused filter subscription to run from our QA site, causing some confusion :-)
4. If all else fails, you could delete the filter, recreate and save as a new filter. Add the single subscription you need. Maybe you can restrict the "Manage Group Filter Subscriptions" global permission, or communicate the issue to your user base to prevent unwanted subscriptions.
We have communication turned off on our sandbox - and our sandbox has two subscriptions active so it is slightly different. I was thinking the only way to fix it may be to delete the filter and start over, thanks, I was just hoping there was a way to figure it out without resorting to that, but I guess not.

Hello @Nicholas Woltring
Another user may have set up a subscription to the filter and designated the recipients as a user group that includes the users who have contacted you.
Neither the owner of a filter nor Jira Administrators can see the subscriptions to a filter where those subscriptions have been set up by another user.
Refer to this change request on the topic.

thank you, I wasn't aware of that and it's possible that happened though very random.

Are you certain they are getting subscription emails for the same, named filter? The one you show includes a schedule with every weekday for you and likely the one intended recipient.
Next, if you view the filter and check the subscriptions from there, are the other people / users noted so they can be removed?
Finally, if you ask one of the extra recipient to click on the email's manage subscription link, can they remove themself?
Kind regards,
Bill

Yes, it's the same filter (I'm one of the recipients) the one subscription is for a single named user and there are no other subscriptions on the filter and no other users and as you can see there is no unsubscribe option in the email.

I've also looked and there are no other filters in our org with the word calculator so it's not another one that is just named similar but with a 0 instead of an o for some reason

Thanks for that information, @Nicholas Woltring
Did you try from the email link "You may edit this subscription here" for one of those people?

That link isn't there- that's the second part of the screenshot I attached, it should be right under the external email warning and is in any other filter I'm subscribed to but absolutely isn't there for any of the users that are getting this subscription now. I couldn't find anyone else having this same issue and didn't know it was one until some people messaged me today on it but apparently it's been going for a month now.
