How do I save a filter in Jira Analytics for a dashboard?

I have a dashboard with a project filter.  We have almost 400 active projects.  I am trying to create a dashboard for a set of projects to use for the dashboard with roughly 1/3 of these.  How do I save the filter so that I do not need to keep recreating the chosen items in my filter?

Hey, I think the question actually is: "How to effectively category hundreds of projects?"

AFAIK maybe we can set a Category for projects we believe should be included in the new filter.

In the issue navigator, search "category = "Your Category Name"", then create a new filter

Thank you for your reply.  Your answer got me thinking about it differently.  I was able to set up a control with a filter and drop down where I could add the project keys to the filter.
