How do I remove the Development and Automation sidebar links from my issues?

These two links are on all of my issues and I can't figure out how to remove them. They appear to be a global setting? How can I remove them from my issues?

Hello @Alex Edghill

Try the suggestion in this KB for the Development panel.

https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/how-to-remove-or-edit-access-to-development-panel-from-jira-issues/

Per this open change request it isn't possible to remove or hide the Automation panel.

Thank you for both of your answers. I am still not following along as there are no more Projects and I don't see the steps mentioned here. Where in my space settings do I need to go and what specific steps are needed? My issue with Jira as a whole is it has changed so much in the last couple years and much of the directions and articles do not directly relate to what I see.

Hello @Alex Edghill

In Jira Cloud the term "Project" has been replaced with "Space". This has not yet been updated in all documentation and UI areas.

To give you precise directions can you tell us the type of Project/Space this concerns? You can get that information by clicking the ... button next to the project/space name in the panel on the left. The Type information is the last two lines of the pop-up.

The important element in this case is if the project/space is Team managed or Company managed.

The method for hiding the Development panel depends on the type of project.

If the project is Team managed it involves changing the Roles available in the project/space. That can be done only by the users assigned to the Administrator role in that project.

If the project is Company managed it involves changing the Permission Scheme used by the project. That can be done only by the users who have the Jira App Administration role for Jira.

Let us know which type of project/space you are trying to change, and which of the above roles you have, if either, and we can provide specific directions.

The Jira Development Panel visibility is controlled by the "View Development Tools" permission in the project's Permission Scheme. If the panel is showing (or not showing) for the wrong users, you simply need to go to ⚙ → Issues → Permission Schemes, find the relevant scheme, and add, edit, or remove users/groups/roles under the View Development Tools permission. Keep in mind that any change will affect all projects sharing that same permission scheme.
