How do I map a custom status to Complete, but keep it in different from Done column?

The problem is following:
sprint items that have custom "On Prod" status are not considered as Completed and sprint metrics are showing these items as "In Progress". I want to map "On Prod" status to Complete. I cannot simply map via Settings -> Layout -> Columns, because they will disappear from the board or mix with tons of items in "Done" status.

Are there any solutions to keep "On Prod" items on board, but still calculate their values (story points) towards the Complete metric?

You can reorder your board columns so the rightmost column contains both "Done" and "On Prod" statuses, then rename that column to something like "Complete.". Then both status will count in sprint completion metrics.

you can actually map more than one status to the same column.

Just drag "On Prod" into it alongside the Done status. Both will live in the same column, and once you change the status category of "On Prod" to Done in the workflow, it will count towards sprint completion as well.

Not sure if there's a workaround for this, but so far, only the far right column is considered as 'completed' status when it comes to sprints, reports, etc.

There's this feature request JRACLOUD-90410: Update Report Logic where 'Done' is based on a status category or workflow, which points more to reports, but it also captures part of what you're looking for 👀

As per official docs and articles such as this one, Atlassian recommends:

...Map all statuses that represent completed work to the rightmost column...

You could maybe build board quick filters or swimlanes that would actually 'decuple' "Done" and "On-prod" statuses 🤔
