How do I link an attachment in a comment with the new jira view?

Laura Rampey August 12, 2019

In the old jira I used to be able to select the paperclip button and it would dropdown attachments that were include in the individual jira case. We use this in our daily workflow to mention members and make sure they reference the correct version of the file.

In the new jira view I only have the link icon for websites OR I can re-attach from my local machine. This isn't a true use case since that would require the user to download the attachment from the main case description and re-attach it in the comment directly every time.

Hi Laura,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Currently, on the new issue view, when we click to add an attachment, it will show all recent attachments and not only the attachments of the ticket.
We have a feature request suggesting to make it the same as it was on the old view:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Regards,
Angélica

I forgot to reply to this but thanks for bringing this to my attention, I definitely would love to see easier attachment management in the new view.

There are some scenarios where uploading files back and forth between team members on a task is typical...  Having to fish through the comments is a major pain whereas it used to float up to the main case.

Thanks!
