We recently started using jira, and hooked it up to our Active Directory.  I have two users in AD that need access into Jira, but I am given a warning in Jira that then need application access granted first.   I tried inviting them, but I get the error message that their email address is already in use. There are no local users to jira with their email addresses.  If I go into user management I do see their AD accounts.  Any help would be appreciated

The users from AD will show in JIRA, assuming you have configured a pretty general list of users to be pulled in.

To enable the actual users you are interested in they will need to be added to the jira-users group within JIRA.

Alternatively you can create a 'jira' group in AD and add the users to this group, once sync'd with JIRA you can allow members of this group to access JIRA.

Thanks for the input Steve.  I found the issue, there were local Jira accounts set up with the same email addresses.  Once I deleted those we were good to go
