How do I get JIRA to notify me whenever an epic has a new story added under it?

I would like to be notified via email whenever a new story is adding to a specific epic OR an existing story under that epic is changed in any way. 

Is this possible and, if so, how would I go about setting this up?

you could add an automation rule which sends out an email on a link trigger if the source or destination is of the epic type.

if you want to use automation rules for "stories changed under and epic in any way" you cout set up a rule to trigger when field(s) are changed and the ticket type is story and a parent link exists (or somehow say is this ticket in an epic)
