How do I generate a Traceability Report in Zephyr that provides Metrics?

Alay Tolia August 26, 2018

I am interested in a Traceability Report option in Zephyr that generates the Report, but also provides a summary of as follows:

Total No. of User Stories or Requirements

No. of User Stories / Requirements with linked Tests and execution status e.g. Passed (all linked Tests passed), Failed (at least one linked test is failed) or Not Completed (when all tests have not been executed), and No. of Tests that were N/A'd or descoped.

The current Traceability Report is where someone needs to actually review the report to gauge the status, and whether it satisified audit requirements or not.

@Alay Tolia,

You could look at two things. For example, if you want to view a traceability of your user stories for your tests, test executions, and bugs, you can utilize the Traceability tab in the test menu. If you want to view metrics, you would have to look at the reports tab on the left side navigation or use the dashboards to create reports with the Zephyr gadgets. These reports are just metrics that are recorded and do not provide traceability.

I hope this helps.

Thank You Fraser. But I do believe that as a Product, Zephyr is missing an important piece of Test Management deliverable that is required by Audit and Compliance in any organization. It is important to know which tests are linked to stories, but it is equally important if there are tests that are executed and not traceable back to requirements / stories. Is this something that Zephyr can pick up as an enhancement in their future versions. Should not be difficult to implement.
