How do I find the destination Status of an Action/Transition in Script Runner?

I am developing a post function that I want to automatically force transitions of linked issues between issue Categories. I want to avoid hard coding status and action names and instead simply find a transition from the current status of each linked issue to a status category that matches the main issue's status category (issue that triggered the post function).
