How do I edit the Salesforce Instance URL?

James Merson

Salesforce has informed me that they are going to change our instance.  I set up a "mydomain" url so we don't have to worry about switching instances.  I need to update the connection between Salesforce and Jira to use the new instance URL but every time I create a new connection it just sets the old instance url.

Any advice?

Hello @James Merson,

Perhaps you can try the following steps:

  1. Logout from your Salesforce instance (completely)
  2. Go to Jira -> Salesforce -> Connection -> On your connection, click on "Revoke access".
  3. Click on "Authorize" and it should jump to the Salesforce login page. Please login to the Salesforce instance by entering the correct username and password. It should able to redirect to your new Salesforce URL.

Which link are you talking about?

What error do you get?  (Or is it really you set it, click to commit, close the config screen and go back in to find it's still the old one?)

What do your logs say at the time you do it?

HI Nic,

Thank you for reaching out.  It's the link configured as part of the salesforce connection:

Connections_-_JIRA.png

I tried adding a new connection but it automatically grabbed the same url rather than the new "My Domain" I set up in Salesforce.
