Hi,

After several years of use, the Resolution field has been modified with options that means more or less the same as other options. I would like to delete these "duplicated" options to make it easier for our developers to choose the same option for the same type of resolution. However, I have not found a way to delete, hide or rename options for Resolution. We are using Jira in the cloud. Any advice?

Hi @Iris Andersen

Thanks for the question.

You can find the Resolution by going to Settings --> Work Items --> Under the Work Item Attributes, find Resolutions.

But before deleting some Resolutions, be sure that no tickets have that resolution, and that no automations or other functions use it. After that, you can delete the options.

You can also change domainname to your domain, and this link will open the Resolutions page.

Hi @Iris Andersen

You can reduce the number of resolution by using workflow properties.

The workflow property is called jira.field.resolution.include or jira.field.
resolution.exclude
if you want to define the list yourself, use include, if you only want exclude some resolutions use exclude. The latter can be useful when you want newly created resolution to appear automatically in the workflows. (Though I guess you are now looking for the opposite).

For more info take a look at this page, The page is for Data Center, but this also works on Cloud.

Cheers,

Rudy
