I am the Atlassian admin, in the job for 3 months. We have been converting items from an embedded Gantt chart into Jira tasks, no problem. two new projects, the directors listed a bunch of Jira tasks, and there is nothing matching them yet in the  Gantt chart. I am not finding anything in the field configuration to match to a Confluence page or chart. There's about 70 tasks, and at the very least I would like them under 1 of 4 parent epics. Help?

To use your epics as parents, I'd suggest using bulk edit to add a parent. This will provide the hierarchy you are looking to achieve. For the timeline to work properly it's looking for start and due dates. You will have to add those fields to your screens if they are not there already. If you have Jira Premium, I'd suggest ditching timeline and using Jira Plans - the gantt chart is better filtering options.

Hi @Linda Wisehart ,
Create 4 Epics → bulk-assign your 70 tasks under them → add start/due dates → use Timeline view or Advanced Roadmaps for your Gantt. No field configuration needed — just dates and epic links
