How do I change the sorting of working states order in Jira?

steliosavramidis September 3, 2025

Hello I have a weird issue. I recently added a new state called "Read for testing in Dev" however in every list when I sort with working state jira seems to be sorting that state last:

How do I change that order? I am including below my workflow in a chart. Also yes the columns are in the right order, I am also including a screen shot of that

Thanks in advance

Hi @steliosavramidis ,

As jira admin, check the order of your statuses under settings > issues > statuses and then order your jql by status, it should reflect that setting.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Hi @steliosavramidis

You will need to add a transition property to each transition.

See this KB article and the property opsbar-sequence in the article.
