How do I associate a workflow schema with a team-managed project?

Jingdi Yang March 13, 2024

Hi community.

I have set up a workflow scheme, but I can't find the workflow in the project settings.

I have read this document: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/add-edit-and-delete-an-issue-workflow-scheme/

I'm wondering if this issue arises because I'm utilizing a team-managed project, and I prefer not to switch it to a company-managed project.

What I have with the project settings:

Can someone guide me on how to activate (or associate a workflow scheme) with my project? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jingdi,

You can't. Team-managed projects are designed to be completely independent of other projects, including other Team-managed projects. You have to modify the workflow within the Project settings itself. If you want to share a workflow scheme across multiple projects, you need to create Company-managed projects.

Hi John,

Thank you very much for your answer!

I have another question to ask, and I apologize for placing it here. I've added translations for Status, but it seems they only take effect when linked to the workflow scheme. Given that workflow schemes can't be used in team-managed projects, does this mean the statuses won't display in other languages when my system is set to those languages?

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to that. You would have to try it out. But I think you can create the statuses in another language maybe - have you tried that?
