How do I allow only specified users to create Epic / Story?

Hello,

I'm just wondering how we can limit the creation of Epics and Stories to a select GROUP or Users?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Jira doesn't support this. You can either create an issue in a project, or you can't.

Workarounds include a bit of javascript (can be bypassed by the users and getting more and more messy as the interface in Jira evolves and you can create in more and more different ways), or an ugly hack - putting a validator on the create transition (which is ugly because it lets them in and cons them into thinking they can create, then bins them after they might have typed stuff in)
