How do I add a story to an epic after the story was already created?

Hi, I am new to Jira, and I am trying to find out how to add a story to an epic after it was created. For example, I created one for the epic "Homepage" but I want it to be added to the Epic "Dashboard". Does anyone know how I can do this?

Up til now I created all the epics in advance and had to set the filter in the backlog to add a story to a specific epic. This way I have to write all stories from an epic consolidated what makes cross prioritizing a lot more complicated.

Thank you very much!

There are two ways

1) go to your back log, select the epic and drag the user stories on that epic, they will linked under the epic

2) Select the issues using jql which you want to add under epic. Then go for bulk operation > edit issues > and then select the epic id which you want to add

You need to expose Epic Link field on the edit screen for story. Added the epic into the Epic Link field. Or if you are using scrum classic then on the backlog expand the epic sidebar and drag story onto epic.

A quicker way to find this would be for you to click edit, then use the "configure fields" button, under which there is a "where is my field" option.  Look for "epic link" in there, it will tell you what you need to reconfigure to get the link to the epic editable.
