Per your description, I understand you need to create and configure a project in your Jira site and properly export it to your client's Jira site so they can use the same project template you created. Is that correct?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to export/import single projects in Jira Cloud application, although we have the following feature request to allow these operations:
Provide support for "Single Project" imports between Jira Cloud sites
Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.
That being said, the only way to properly migrate any projects you have to another instance would be by doing a full export/import from one site to another. These would be the steps:
- Create a new Jira site and configure there only the projects you want to move to your client's site.
- Follow the "Migrate from Cloud to Cloud" documentation to properly migrate your projects to the site of your client. P.S: If your client already has any existing data on their site that should be kept, you can use the following documentation to merge both sites and avoid your current client data from being erased:
