I see the "You’ve used 90% of the 2GB storage available on your Free plan" banner on my project. I would like to clean up our storage usage.
For example, how can I locate our largest attachments, so I may review them and delete the old ones we don't need?
I hope there is a reasonable way to do this via the Jira website. (Please don't suggest that I have to write code to call an API to view/manage the storage.)
Hi Paul,
Another option to help you identify the issues with large sized attachments is the Revyz Configuration Manager for Jira app in the Atlassian Marketplace. Full transparency, I am an advisor for the app. You can sign up for a free trial which will allow you to identify the issues in that time and do your cleanup.
identifying large attachments is indeed tricky in Jira, but if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you'll find various options there.
E.g., you may want to check out the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of so-called smart columns that aren’t natively available, including an issue's attachments size. This is how it looks in action:
As you can see above, you can easily sort and filter by the attachments size; you can also use it across JXL's advanced features (such as issue grouping or sum ups), e.g. to identify projects with large attachments. Once you've narrowed down your list of issues, you can open the issues to delete the relevant attachments.
Better Attachments is also great and allows bulk-downloading and bulk-deleting of attachments directly from the app.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
