How can you enable the backlog in a jira teamspace?

I've been given global admin permissions for my space and I'm trying to enable the backlog in my jira teamspace.

I've checked and it says "team-managed space". When I click "Add to Navigation", it doesn't give me the option to add a backlog view.

Afterwards, I checked "Space Settings" but there is no "features" tab which allows me to add the backlog.

I've followed this documentation but my instance doesn't match what's instructed, so I can't complete the steps.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Ryan Moore ,

Could you please confirm whether your current project is a Business space or a Software space?

  • In Jira, open the Space settings and look just under the space name in the left sidebar – it will indicate the space type (Business or Software).

If you’re using a Business space, the Features and Backlog options are not available. In that case, you’ll need to use a Software space if you want the classic backlog view.

If you’re already on a Software space and still can’t find the Backlog option, I’d recommend contacting Atlassian Support so they can check your specific project configuration: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/

Hope it helps 🙌

I'm using a Business Space. Thanks!

That it explains it.
