How can we support many customers to log issues in their own project?

As a services provider we support many customers.  Is it possible to have customers login to view the status of issues specifically for them, but not any other projects, and not have to assign a license to each of those read-only users?

No.  To be able to restrict people, you need to be able to identify them, which means they have to log in.

I've seen a couple of workarounds - scraping information into a different system that doesn't have a licence cost to it, or using the web-server to work out who they are via a certificate or login and then only allowing them access to very specific issues.

I was thinking along the same lines for the workarounds, and sounds like we may need to go the "scraping" route.
