How can we make custom field read only in JIRA Cloud

I am trying to make custom field read only in JIRA cloud instance.

Kindly let me know if there is any solution.

What does the field need to do - is it a calculation or read-only for certain users or?

You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

It should be read only on view screen for users and it is not a calculated field
