How can componet lead be assigned to all newly created issues for this component?

I have set a team member as component leader. But I found he is not assigned automatically if a new issue of this component is created. Is there any other configuration I am missing?

I added component lead as default assignee. But it's not working.

When creating a component you can choose the default assignee when a issue with this component is created, look your component configuration

Can you look if the component lead have the assigned issue in the permission scheme. I will alson look in the workflow see if you have a postfunction that set the assignee
