We’ve renamed the Issue Type “Epic”. In Administration / Issue Types we see the renamed Epic. When we are looking into <url>/rest/api/2/issuetype we see the renamed Epic, but there is still a Issue Type defined named “Epic” (See Screenshot). This Issue Type “Epic” is not visible in Administration / Issue Types.Does anybody know, how this happens? and how I’m able to delete an Issue Type, which is not visible in the Administration?

At present, Jira does not support the renaming of Epics in full.  Jira Software itself will handle it ok in the UI, but

Some apps will fail as they expect Epics to be called Epic

The word Epic is still used in the code, in interfaces, in structural parts of the UI and in returned data.

I strongly recommend that you rename the issue type back to Epic, and wait until such a time as Atlassian fully implements a rename for it (this is not something I expect tomorrow, but it is high on the list, as Jira Align becomes more integrated with Atlassian)
