Hello, I’m currently using Jira.
I’m categorizing issue types into three levels to improve readability in task management. I’d like to toggle sub-types within their parent types, but I can’t find any relevant settings.
Could you help me with this?
1. Curruent State
2. Desired State
(My colleague said it might be due to different project types. I'm using a Business project, while the other team is using a Software project. If this is the case, how can I change it?)
Hi @김명철 , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
I am looking at a business project in my test instance, in the List view and I was able, after creating a child issue like this
to open the Parent to display the child
Is this what you mean?
You could also try adjusting these settings here
I hope this helps you but if not, please reply and we'll try to help you.
Best wishes
Hi @김명철 , thanks for your patience. I didn't understand your question well.
Please check in the project settings area here
that subtasks are enabled in your project. If they aren't, you will need to add them to the Issue Type scheme, or ask an admin in your instance to do this for you.
Best wishes

The menu and screen you mentioned were different from mine, so I couldn't try anything. But now I see that toggling is enabled!
Did you change any settings for me?
Thank you so much! If this hadn’t worked, I would have wasted a huge amount of time. I really appreciate it!

But this is really inconvenient. I searched through tons of community posts to find a solution, but nothing came up.
It would be great if you could share the solution here for others who might face the same issue
For reference, I changed the language to English and then back to Korean. The toggling remains enabled, but due to a bug, some parts are still displayed in English.
