How can I see versions on my next gen backlog?

In the backlog view of my next gen project, I'm trying to access versions so that they display with each story (the way epics do).

I have my backlog set up, have turned versions on, have created several versions, and have assigned multiple stories to those versions.

According to https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-versions-in-a-scrum-project/, Versions should show up on the left side of the backlog board, aligned vertically.  You can also see the version name associated with each story, between the description and number.

This version tab doesn't show up in my backlog at all, and I haven't found any documentation to show me how to add or remove it.

Hi @lauren.edwardson,

The documentation refers to a classic project in Jira Cloud. In next gen projects, this functionality is currently not available.

There is an issue in the backlog that you can watch / vote on to track if and when this becomes available: JSWCLOUD-18664.

This is available now and can be turned on in Project Settings -> Features -> Releases
