Hi,
I know some have asked about "how can I track a task on multiple sprints" ... and I have seen replies that are against scrum methodologies and other happy-path scenarios where I completely agree on it, but this scenario is a little different.
I want (without cloning the ticket), to use a task from Project A, that is running a sprint Sprint A, and see it as part of my sprint on Project B, Sprint B.
I can see the tasks by default from one project to another, the problem is that the task is already on one sprint, which makes sense, but in this case, being part of Sprint A and B also makes sense, as are tracked by different teams.
So, I'm wondering, in this scenario, is something Jira allows without an ugly workaround of cloning the ticket or creating an epic?
Regards.
Juan, I would suggest to use a filter to pull data from multiple projects/sprints, rather than pulling it on the board. Because such changes on the board also impact the reports.
That would be my suggestion too - don't try putting the same story into multiple sprints, just improve your reporting.
If they have to go into multiple sprints though, they have to be included in the boards.

any example of how my board and report should be configurable to archive this?

You could do this, but it is very bad practice, as you're going to have conflicts in what each team are doing with it. Stories really should only be worked on by one team at a time.
The way to do it is to look at the boards. (The project here is irrelevant, it's the boards that matter)
Boards are a view of a selection of issues, and these allow you to build your sprints. You'll need to have the issue included in the boards that Sprint A and Sprint B are from (you can't put an issue into different sprints from the same board, that's complete nonsense, as you'd effectively be ranking it in two different places in the board backlog)
To do that, you'll need to adjust the board filters. A simple example would be when you've got a "Board A: project = AAA" and "Board B: project = BBB". Change the filters to "Board A: project = AAA or label = for-board-a" and "Board B: project = BBB or label = for-board-b"

Hi Nic,
The stories are worked by one team only.
What type of report should I do?
I need to run two sprints (no way I cannot do that), I can add another Board/Report on Project A, and then I see on the reports no way to add my custom filter, any idea how to do that? Should I create a custom board and then do what you suggest?

Why do you need two sprints when you've only got one team working on it?
I think you might have an unsupportable process here, and you probably want to be fixing that, not kludging something into Jira to try to support it.
