Id like to make a big revamp on my workflow for my BUG issue type specifically in my project. But i am skeptical about all the associated tickets to the issue type. I would like to know if it is a good approach for me to create a new workflow instead - add new/ remove old statuses, and associate it to the issue type - overriding the old one ? would this be a wise move ? Am i at risk of losing data ?

Hi @Tengku Firdaus Tengku Zambri Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If you working in a company-managed project:

It is indeed a good approach to start with a NEW workflow. When it's finished, associate it with the Bug issue type in the Workflow Scheme associated with your project.

Any statuses that did exist in the old workflow and no longer exist in the new workflow will have to be remapped to one of the existing statuses in the new workflow. The wizard will prompt you for this, so don't worry.

You won't lose any data.

Hello @Tengku Firdaus Tengku Zambri

In addition to the above reply if you are opting for the modifyiing the old workflow, don't forget to take the back up and you can always use the backup copy if you want to revert it back.

Thanks
