How can I remove portal-only customers to prevent unauthorized data access?

Stephanie Egberts March 20, 2024

Hi,

I've utilized the data management feature (copy product data) to duplicate an existing project to another organization, and this process was completed successfully.

However, when I attempted to change the project lead in the Jira software project, I noticed numerous customers listed that I could choose from. This is concerning as it could potentially lead to unintended access for customers to view data of other individuals in this new project. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any option to indicate that I don't want to migrate these customers. I only specified that project-related customers should be migrated.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that these customer data originated from Jira Service Management, a product I do not wish to utilize. Although I can manage all individuals via the admin section by navigating to 'products' and then clicking on the site under 'sites and products,' in this case, clicking on Portal-only customers, a vast number of customers have been imported (approximately 8000). This is not what I intended, and bulk deleting them isn't an available option. Deleting them individually is also not feasible due to the large number of customers.

So now .. how to remove them efficiently? Who can help me out here.
