I have two Jira projects - Project A and Project B and I created a task in Project A - Task1 with title, description, and a manually added field CoS.
Now I want to move Task1 to Project B. Jira allows me to move it but not copying the manually added field. Am I missing anything here?
Hi Arun,
So if you are using TMP project then you cannot as the custom field is not shared across the two projects. So this event you would have to create that field on the other project and manually add it. If you're using CMP project then you simply need to ensure that your custom field is shared with both projects. If you go to the administration section under issues and then custom fields find your field and associate it with the screen(s) in the other project.
Thanks, Jack Brickey!!
As you referred above - So if you are using the TMP project then you cannot as the custom field is not shared across the two projects. So this event you would have to create that field on the other project and manually add it.
If I add the same custom fields on another TMP project and I try to move a task from TMP1 to a TMP2 project I'm not able to copy the content which was already present on the TMP1 project.
Can you please help? Thanks!

@Arun Venkataramana , that is correct. Custom fields within a TMP project cannot be shared with another TMP project. Each TMP project is a self-contained solution. If you wish to have the same custom fields shared between different projects that you must use CMP project.

Hi Arun,
You should check a few things:
1. in Settings -> Issues -> Custom fields make sure your custom field Context includes both projects and it is available on all needed Screens (Edit, View, Create), this might require you to be a Global admin
2. make sure the custom field is available on the issue type in both projects -> you can check in Project settings in Issues -> Types and Layout
3. check Board settings -> Issue detail view that your field is added
Hope that helps.
