Hi @kunal.karlekar,

it would be good to get a few more information from your side:

- do you want to import ALL issues from one Jira or only a part of them? And what kind of data do you want to copy? Everything?

- what kind of Jira instances do you and your partner company have? Cloud or server? Same question regarding Confluence.

In general, there are two options for you:

a) to import ALL data, make a full backup of your instance (docs for Jira, docs for Confluence) and import it in the other instance. There are also ways to migrate from cloud to server.

b) if you want to continuously copy your data between the instances and be selective about which data you want to copy, you can also use a marketplace app to synchronize issues (only available for Jira afaik and yes, additional costs apply).

Disclaimer: I'm working as a developer for one of the Jira issue sync solutions, Backbone Issue Sync.

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you for the response.

- do you want to import ALL issues from one Jira or only a part of them? And what kind of data do you want to copy? Everything?

Ans: I want to import all the issues of one particular project. I want to copy all the data of that project including the documentation on wiki.

-what kind of Jira instances do you and your partner company have? Cloud or server? Same question regarding Confluence.

Ans: I use the Jira instance which is cloud-based and the partner company uses the Jira instance that is server based.

My company uses confluence and the partner company uses wiki for documentation.

Hi @kunal.karlekar, thanks for your answers!

With "partner company uses wiki for documentation" you mean that your partner company is not using Confluence? I now assume they are also using Confluence. If not, then your case becomes a bit more complicated.

There is no automatic way to copy Jira issues together with Confluence documentation. Hence, you have to split this into two tasks and coordinate that by yourself. Regarding Confluence data, you should be able to find some answers in the links I've posted. There is also an app to migrate Confluence server data to cloud, maybe it helps in this case: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219672/cloud-migration-assistant-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview

Regarding the Jira project data: if this copy task is a one-time task, then I suggest to do this using an export/import of your data. However, you can also do this using a sync app. And if you have the requirement to keep a continuous copy process running between the projects, I definitely recommend to use a sync app to support you with this.

Some last thought: since your project sounds like a bit more work to do, I suggest to consult an Atlassian Solution Partner to plan ahead and help you with the execution: https://www.atlassian.com/partners

I presume you're talking about separate JIRA instances. Basically you can't out of the box. There is a plugin in the marketplace (for a cost) that will import projects but I don't know if it is available for the cloud. The only way is to export the issues in a csv file and import them into your instance. You will need to import them into a project with the same workflow, fields, etc. Attachments need to be imported separately. I don't know about confluence.
