How can I get the first time that some ticket was in certain status?

I want to get all the tickets that were in "status-a" for the first time.

Is that possible?

I know it shouldn't happen since the ticket shouldn't be at the same status more than once - we're fixing it - but I need to find it out in order to get historical data from the project.

I think you can not solve the problem generally. If you have Power Scripts or ScriptRunner, you could write a script or a JQL function to fulfil your requirements.
