How can I get a report on average time an issue spends in each status for a project/filter?

Deleted user September 13, 2018

I have been trying to get a definitive answer on if it is possible out of the box for JIRA Cloud to be able to report on / track the amount of time an issue (or collection of issues) has spent in a particular status?

From what I have read people have mentioned trying to use the Jira Utilities plugin but this does not seem to be available for Jira Cloud.

What other options are there to getting this information if this is not available?

Hello @[deleted]

Welcome to the community.

Using plugin it's very much possible to achieve what you want. But without plugins as well you can use "Control Chart" to get insights into this.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/control-chart-777002660.html

From the docs

It takes the time spent by each issue in a particular status (or statuses), and maps it over a specified period of time. The average, rolling average, and standard deviation for this data are shown.

Thanks @Tarun Sapra I have two questions on this:

  1. If I unselect "Include non-working days in calculations" and the average is listed as 1w2d for example would that translate to 7 working days? i.e. is this based on a 5 day working week?
  2. Is the control chart based on time in status or time in a column - in some cases multiple statuses could be mapped to a column on a board?
