I have a query that contains linked items. I'm trying to look to see if any of the Jira tickets from that query have a specific linked Task, with a specific summary. The linked type is irrelevant. The linked type being used is not consistent across the users.
Hello @Gross_ Andrea
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Let me see if I can report back your requirements accurately.
You have issues AAA-1, AAA-2, AAA-3.
Linked to these issues are AAA-10, AAA-20, AAA-30.
What you want to do is get the issues from the first list (AAA-1, AAA-2, AAA-3) where they have a linked issue of type Task with a specific summary. The Task type and Summary criteria would be applied to the second list; AAA-10, AAA-20, AAA-30
So, if AAA-1 was linked to AAA-10, and AAA-10 was a Task and had the specified summary, then AAA-1 would be in your results set.
If AAA-2 was linked to AAA-20, and AAA-20 was not a Task, then AAA-2 would not be in your results set.
Have I understood that correctly?
Is this something you need to do once, or a query you will need to run multiple times?
If so, Jira does not natively provide a filtering function that will provide that type of results set. There are several third party apps that extend JQL capabilities, such as ScriptRunner Enhanced Search. Do you have any of those apps available to you?
Are you open to getting one of those apps to satisfy your requirement?
Here is a search of the Atlassian Marketplace to help you find some of those apps:
