I've crafted a customised Agile workflow with 15 statuses.
By default this makes the Board totally unusable.
How can I simplify the presentation of the Board to distill these all to say:
* To Do
* In Progress
* Done
as suggested here.
Thanks much Earl! Right on point. I've since realised that JIRA Core was the main blocker in this functionality for me. Have since moved to our team to JIRA proper and have since developed this (what I'm calling) Agile Design Kanban Workflow. Always looking to improve and appreciate anyone's thoughts. I considered simplifying and having Kanban automatically manage the workflow but I think we still get a lot out of having all the alternate statuses so I can see what stage everything is instead of just 'In Progress'.
p.s. I would have shared on marketplace but seemed too time consuming.
Cheers – Jason
Hello Jason,
Details on Mapping the statuses to the columns can be found in This Article.
But I do want to point out that the Statuses cannot transition vertically within the same column as covered in the following Feature Requests:
So with 15 statuses you might not have an optimal setup using ToDo inProgress & Done only as some of the transitions could not be executed from the board and would require transitioning from the main issue view.
With the current functionality you would want to group your columns by statuses that relate but cannot transition to each other in the current workflow.
Regards,
Earl
