I am looking to create a custom field to set users as out of office so i can create the below rule for automation.

Hi @Polly Off ,
It looks I failed to reply to Tori, which I regret. In any event, there is no way to assign a custom field to a users profile. So I really don't see the solution offered in the other post practical. The point here is that if you have to manually go through and mark each issue assigned to a user such that the custom field reflects they are out of the office then why not just reassign tge issue to another individual. I hope that makes sense.
In short, there is not an effective way of managing out of office resources negatively within Jira. You can certainly re-search the marketplace or something that might assist.
