How can I create a burndown chart that registers story points as they are consumed?

We are using story points for estimation and for work done.  The nature of our technology development is such that stories often do not reach the Done column by the end of the sprint.  Nevertheless significant progress is made and we typically consume most of the story points.  However, burndown charts are configured to only register consumed points when the story or subtask reaches the Done column.  Is there some way I can configure the burndown to register consumed points even if the story has not yet reached the Done column?  This would enable us to create a burndown chart that is a better reflection of the teams progress through the sprint.  Of course I can easily do this in Excel but would like Jira to do this if possible.

Hi Tony, as far as I know this is not possible. The story point is considered complete only when the issue is Done. I would suggest breaking stories into smaller ones.

Indeed, that's the point of a burndown - it's not done until it really is done.  A burndown that "is a better reflection of progress" is not a burndown chart and is useless for Sprint/Scrum.
