How can I change the permissions schedule associated/defaulted to new projects?

When I create a project, I'm not asked what project permission scheme it should get. I have to manually go into the project and change it. I'd rather make the preferred permission scheme the default for new projects. Is there a way to do that?

If you use project roles you can have one permission scheme for all projects.
