How can I automate a task summary to display current month and year?

Hi Everyone,

Every month I create an Epic for my team with Tasks and Sub-Tasks. I have automation set up in the Epic to trigger the Task and Sub-Tasks based on adding labels and/or components.

Occasionally these monthly tasks roll over into the next month and it becomes tricky to navigate on our dashboards.

Is it possible to use smart values to automatically add the month and year to any task/sub-task that gets created?

eg:

Monthly Epic is created, when a component is added it will trigger the creation of "Task A / Task B / Task C" whereas I would like it to create " February 2026 (current month/year) - Task A / February 2026 - Task B / February 2026 - Task C"

@Tim Clarke we usually just inherit the summary or a portion of the summary from the Epic to help group everything together.  You can use smart values to get month and year https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/jira-smart-values-date-and-time/
