Hi,

I wanted to integrate the project using "component/s" to improve time savings and complexity.

e.g

As is >

Three Projects : Project A for iOS / Project A for Android / Project A for Web

To be >

One Project : Project A using component/s : iOS/Android/Web

It was confirmed that I could manage the issues by integrating them according to my intention but I could not find a way to manage the version by component.

I've seen that it's possible resolve this using the Configuration Management Toolkit plugin, but I cannot install it because I'm using “Jira cloud”.

Is there a way to resolve it on “Jira cloud”?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Many Thanks

Beomseok

I think only viable option is using component prefixes/suffix in version names. In your case:

  • iso-1.0.0
  • android-1.0.0
  • web-1.0.0

That means you will have 3 times more version in the version selection combobox but I don't think there is a better way for cloud. I'm the developer of "Configuration Management Toolkit" add-on, and I have seen my customers are using this prefix/suffix schema a lot.

What do you mean by "manage the version by component"? Do you mean that you want to use Jira versions somehow related to a component? I do not think it is possible out of the box. Versions are created for the whole project not for components. You attach issues to versions. If you want to attach issues with a certain component to a version then you should do it manually. There is no automation out of the box.

Or maybe you mean that you want to manage issues on different Scrum and Kanban boards? Then it is possible. When you create a board you define a filter for the board. It means that you should create as many boards and filters as components. In each filter you would limit the search by a component. For example like this:

component = "Project A for iOS"
