Currently, I can manually add a marker for today in Jira and set a date. How can I create a marker that automatically shows the current day in the timeline view without having to manually adjust its position or update the date daily?
The marker needs to be dynamic and reflect the current date.
The Product Roadmap in Jira Discovery doesn’t currently support a dynamic “today” or “now” line that updates automatically. The only available marker is a manually placed date marker that stays fixed once set. This is by design—roadmaps in Discovery focus on visualizing idea timelines rather than continuous time tracking. Atlassian’s documentation for Jira Product Discovery roadmaps confirms that date markers are static and must be manually adjusted when you want to highlight a new point in time.
