How are the statuses in Jira Plans grouped in the filter?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Dear Community,
in Jira Plans the issue statuses are grouped together in: '`To Do', 'In Progress' and 'Done'. In the projects which make up de Jira Plans, we have more statuses. How are these grouped and can I influence this somehow?
My problem is that I have a status 'Refinement' which is now grouped by 'In progress' but I want to have it grouped by 'To Do'.
