I am moving project from Next Gen to Classic, i am worried how my active sprint will be mapped with classic project.

Sprint id is a global field. When Issue moves from Next-gen to a classic project, the sprint ID will still exist.
You will see the same Sprint and Issue in the classic project board.
BTW: Please pay attention to adjust the different status of the two project during the bulk move.

I read while moving it will loose connection between child issue, is it applicable for story as well or it is only with epics we loose connection?
