We are currently running Jira 8.5.1 at my company. My manager has asked me to modify a query that he created and owns. The query shows in the "Shared With" column "Shared with anyone on the Web (VIEW)". I am one of the administrators of Jira at my company. When I try to change the owner of the query to myself I receive the following error:
"Dashboards and filters in this Jira instance cannot be shared with anyone on the web anymore. If you want to modify the item, you must change the Shares so that it is not shared with anyone on the web."
Is there anyway I can modify his query without my manager granting me edit privileges of the query or him changing the "Shares" value? I hope that my question is clear.
Thanks in advance for everyones' help.
Hi John - the short answer is No. You have to go to Settings > System > Shared Dashboards or Shared Filters and change the ownership to you. Then you can modify it.
