Hide system fields from issue details (jira software data center)

Is there a way to prevent the system field 'status' (which shows the workflow step) from appearing on the view/edit issue screens?

I have not included this field as part of any of my screens (be it create, edit or view)

Answer accepted

Status is a mandatory, non-removable field. It will be come automatically without adding in the screen.

You can't remove this field from view screen.

It's hard to use an issue tracker to track issues when you don't have a status to do the tracking with!
