Hide columns in issue filter

Jana Borkovcova May 3, 2018

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to solve one problem, but I don't know how. I was looking for some solution on the internet, but I found nothing helpful.

In our Jira, we have got some users, who cant see spent time. They cant see the spent time on issues, Tempo or reports. Everything looks fine, but I found, that they can see spent time in Jira issue filter (Jira, advanced filter, list view, add column spent time).

These users can add spent time as a column and after that, they are able to see spent time. For me, this does not make sense, because they haven't got permission to see spent time or tracking time etc.

Is there a way, how to hide this column or filtering for this group of users? It's really crucial for us.

Thank you for your time

Jana

Hi @Jana Borkovcova,

I believe you are looking to restrict certain users from seeing particular fields. If this is the case then unfortunately JIRA does not serve this functionality out of the box.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-1330 the link has been resolved and Atlassian will not address this issue at this time.

However, there is a plugin: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/23216

Hope this helps

Hello Danny, thank you for the answer. The plugin is only for server Jira, do you know some good plugin for Jira cloud?

And what I need is restrict some custom fields in Jira issue advanced filter (list view, add columns for example spent time), but only for some users.

Have a nice day

Hi @Jana Borkovcova,

Unfortunately I am not able to find a cloud plugin that can serve your requirements.
